The application Duplex Measurement determines the galvanized layer thickness of non-ferrous coatings on ferritic alloys. The measuring range is between 1 µm and 300 µm.

The Duplex Measurement application is a software supplement for the METALSCOPE [MI-LAB 2].

    Duplex measurement

    Galvanic coatings contribute to corrosion protection and are of great importance in industry. By means of this application, galvanized coating thicknesses on ferritic alloys can be determined.

  • Product description

    Duplex measurement

    Due to the principle of operation, the duplex measurement application works independently of distance. For example, the zinc layer thickness can be determined through a painted or electrically non-conductive coating. Coating layers up to 2 mm do not cause any measured value deviation.

  • Working principle

    Multifrequency Magnetic Inductive

    Magnetic fields of different frequency and thus penetration depth determine the physical properties of the coating with high frequencies and the physical properties of the base material with low frequencies. The signal gradient and thus the zinc layer thickness up to the diffusion layer are then calculated and displayed in µm.
